During the Province Chapter, which was held in Costa Rica from the 22nd to the 27th of May 2017, Sr. Francisca Torres Calvo was re-elected as the Province Leader of Central America.
Francisca is of Costa Rican nationality and entered the Congregation and pronounced her temporary vows on the 8th of August 1969 and made perpetual profession on the 24th April 1976. She completed studies in teaching and received a bachelor’s degree in Adult Education and an advanced degree in Theology.
Over the years, Francisca has worked in various ministries and programs, as a teacher and director of a primary and secondary school, as educator and director in homes for children, residences for adolescent mothers, and director of Training Centers for Women. Francisca has also served as director of a day care center for girls in situations of risk and vulnerability.
In addition, Francisca has served as directress of initial formation, local leader, province councilor, and province leader.
Members of the Province Leadership Team are:
Apostolic Councilors: Elizabeth Aragón, Gilma Muñoz, Nidia Quesada and YamilethAlvarado.
Contemplative Councilors: Cristina Bonilla and Patricia Rojas.
The mandate of the new Team will begin on the 8th September 2017.
