Throughout France, about 17 000 monuments opened their doors last week-end for the 34th edition of European Heritage Days on the theme “Youth and Heritage”.

This year, the Congregation of our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd in collaboration with the Province BFMN offered different visits to help people discover the history, spirituality and mission of the Congregation.
On 16th and 17th September, 470 visitors (30% more than in 2016!), discovered the Motherhouse site by visiting its main places of interest: the Chapel, the Museum and the St Nicholas Abbey.
The clement weather enabled them to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the gardens before the eagerly awaited crossing of the tunnel. The atmosphere was very friendly with many families and children interested to discover little known places of Angers.
On the afternoon of Sunday 17th September, a concert organized in the Chapel by the gospel choir “Happy Swing” delighted the visitors at the end of their visits.
This 2017 edition showed the great interest of the population of Angers in spiritual heritage, a trend that has been confirmed all over France in recent years.
