Thanksgiving ritual for the Outgoing Leadership Team

Each councilor was thanked on behalf of the assembly by two participants. Each one was gifted with a beautiful shawl as a sign of gratitude.

We had a beautiful thanksgiving ritual for the Outgoing Leadership Team prepared by the Chapter Planning Committee.

Introduction

The following reflections and prayers were offered.

“You have a heart created to love and be grateful, then raise your joyful thanks to God for the immense benefits God has showered upon you.” St. M. Euphrasia

We recall with joy these words of St. M. Euphrasia as we gather to say ‘gratitude to you our leaders . You have dared to make a difference to Good Shepherd mission – inviting us to look towards new horizons and even beyond....

Thank you for your presence that breathes gentleness, goodness and compassion, thank you for the sacred spaces you created -initiating reconciliation and risking for mission….

This is a moment of thanksgiving for your creative and daring leadership – our song of gratitude rises up…Yes, gratitude is the memory of our hearts….

The assembly then sang the song “I Thank My God” (in the three Languages) by Fr. Frank Anderson, MSC

We then saw a PowerPoint Presentation which recalled some significant moments during the mandate of the CLT, thanksgiving moments that were profound and touching.

Each councilor was thanked on behalf of the assembly by two participants. Each one was gifted with a beautiful shawl as a sign of gratitude.

Finally we offered a prayer of Thanksgiving ( Joyce Rupp) with all participants laying hands of blessing towards the team.

A Thanksgiving Blessing

May an abundance of gratitude burst forth as you reflect upon the years of leadership through which you touched many a lives May you discover a cache of hidden wisdom among the people and events that have brought you challenges and pain.
