Twelve participants were present for the annual meeting held in Angers from 2 – 4 June 2015 for the circle of Unit Leaders of RIMOA. The Units represented were Egypt/ Sudan, Kenya, Congo/ Kenya, Senegal/ Burkina Faso, Lebanon /Syria, South Africa, the Isles and Angola/ Mozambique. Two members of the Congregational Leadership Team, Sr Rita Luis and Reina Escobar were also present. The Meeting was facilitated by Marie Hélène Halligon and the translations done by our two interpreters Daniella Persia and Anne Marie Driss.

A beautiful prayerful power Point (Come into this sacred space) used for the Leadership Session helped us to enter in prayer. The Coordinator, Sr Marie Claude Naddaf lighted a candle for RIMOA and each participant was invited to light a small candle and place it in the center piece. Sr Marie Claude welcomed all the participants: Unit Leaders, the councilors, the facilitator, the secretary and the interpreters after which she gave her opening message followed by comments and reflections.

The facilitator, Sr. Marie Hélène Halligon then invited the link persons to share the different reports (Formation, Spirituality and Justice Peace) followed by discussions. The structure of the RIMOA network and different themes were examined and the facilitator helped participants to clarify some points. Different roles were defined such as the roles of the Coordinator, the permanent Secretary, the JP link person, the Formation link person and Spirituality link person. We also reflected on how we could consolidate Mission Development Offices in RIMOA.

Susan Chia visited us on the third day and helped us to reflect on the formation guidelines she recommended that the role of the Unit Leader must call forth the entire team on all levels and see how all levels work together. Participative model is about how we help the individual to discern where the spirit is calling her. The team concept is very important.

Sister Winifred Doherty from the GSIJPO was invited to speak on the Mission and Role of the NGO Regional Designate for RIMOA, to replace Ferew Lemma as from 2016. She listened to the questions of
sisters and gave an interesting input and some clarifications on the role and responsibilities of the NGO Regional Designate.

Sr. Melitta Fragner, the Europe RIMOA link person was invited for an exchange to strengthen the network for better partnership. Sister Marie Claude Naddaf (Province of Lebanon/ Syria) finished her mandate as Coordinator of RIMOA and Sister Florence Kisulu(Province of Kenya) was chosen by the Unit Leaders to be the new coordinator for the next two years.

The Unit Leaders unanimously chose Sister Marie Françoise Mestry to be the Permanent Secretary for three years which she generously accepted.
