The mobile unit of the San Diego Blood Bank will be at St. James Sunday, June 14, from 7:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. to receive blood donations.
The need for blood remains great throughout the county and state, and we urge your participation. Bringing it close to home, we have had several parishioners whose lives have been saved by blood transfusions, and over the years we’ve been doing it, your donations have saved over 9,000 lives. Remember: people are the only source — there is no substitute. And only 5% of Americans ever donate blood. If you’ve never given blood before, now is the time to start. We need a big turnout!
The first time you donate blood each year, you may create a Blood Assurance Program for your own family. Thereafter, you may donate a credit to anyone you choose. It may be given to the Parish, or to any other group, or to a person of your choosing who has an immediate need for blood.
Blood donations credited to the Parish are available to any parishioner, or to a member of the immediate family of a parishioner,
at any time; whenever blood is needed, contact the rectory office. The Blood Bank will make available as many units of blood as are needed, at absolutely no charge to the patient.
