This Sunday the Capitulants spent the day reflecting. In the morning we started out with a beautiful celebration about the process of discernment that is underway. To a certain extent the story of the Nova star is similar to what we have been called to live, i.e. it is necessary to accept a part of death to attain more life.
After prayer, each Sister placed a star in the middle of the room whilst anybody who wanted to, expressed, through dance, their wish to give of themselves.
The rest of the day was spent in reflective mood; listening to each other to progress in discernment. During Eucharist a member of each Province lit a candle and the flame was then passed on to each participant as a symbol of the gift of ourselves. We should renew ourselves continually.
A letter was written and sent from the Chapter Group to the Sisters of The Good Shepherd in Egypt to tell them how very sorry we feel for the trauma the Sisters in the Suez community have experienced.
