This morning the Chapter elected Sr. Angela Fahy as their superior general. The Liturgy Group had prepared a Ritual of Service, a Columbian tradition, where the newly appointed leader washes the
feet or hands of her community as a reminder that she is called firstly, to be the “servant of the servants”.
Eucharist was celebrated at 11am and concluded with a very moving anointing and blessing of the new superior general. The afternoon was spent in discernment for a new central team, in preparation for voting on Saturday morning. A long days work concluded at 7pm in time for the Evening Meal. During the meal, Angela was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers by the community here at Angers.
A long, but very fruitful day!
