EMBRACING OUR FRAGILE AND BEAUTIFUL WORLD IN RECONCILIATION AND HOPE

This title, full of deep meaning, which is referred to as the 5th General Chapter of the Union of the Sisters of Our Lady of
Charity, to be held from August 18th to September 4th this year in Angers, France, in the "Mother House" of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd .
Our sisters will gather there to continue listening to the voice of the Master who loved and called them through St. John Eudes, to give their lives in service to a significant portion of humanity that in the course of history, has been hit by violence, poverty, marginalization, exploitation, indifference and despair, peeling fruit of ruthless and cruel in some sectors of the society of the time.
So, they will meet to reaffirm themselves to the Lord, to continue his mission and, as the slogan says, be bearers of God's reconciliation, or rather be the embodiment of unconditional love of God who forgives, reconciles and heals.
True to their calling, they also have to make very important decisions that could redirect their institutional state, since this definitely depends if they join the Sisters of the Good Shepherd or not. But regardless of what happens, their charism will remain and will be renewed. The daughters of John Eudes, for which they were founded, will remain faithful and continue in their apostolic charity.
It is no coincidence that this chapter decision-making takes place in Angers. It was the Lord that led them by the hand to get there, being in the middle of their Sisters of the Good Shepherd and also thanks to St. Mary Euphrasia for her example as a spiritual woman, brave and bold in decision making.
A small detail, as partners in this important event will be the Fr. José Mario Bacci as a Spiritual Advisor and myself, as Chapter Secretary.
Let us join in prayer for this event for the Great Eudist Family. We ask all the Eudists to please include in their personal and communal prayers, and the Eucharistic celebrations with this intention: spiritual enrichment and strengthening of our missionary Sisters.
We express our affection, closeness and brotherly solidarity to all of them, the Chapter sisters and all those who remained in their homes.

Mother of Love, the Mother of Heart, "Capacity of Jesus", do live as Christ in them and in us, so that together with you and you among us may have one heart.

Fraternally,

Echeverry Alexander Arevalo, cjm
            Secretary General
Congregation of Jesus and Mary
