Sister Souhaila Bou Samra was appointed Province Leader of the Province of Lebanon / Syria. She
will take office on September 21, 2017. The chapter of the Province took place at Saydet el Bir (Lebanon) from 11-15 July 2017.

Sr. Souhaila was born in Lebanon, on 08 September 1960, and she entered the Good Shepherd in Ain Aar (Lebanon) in 1983. She made her first profession in 1986 and her perpetual profession in 1991 in Lebanon.
Souhaila holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology and a diploma in theological studies at the University of Saint-Esprit De Kaslik (USEK), Lebanon. She has training also in the field of discernment, of accompaniment and deepening of faith: accompaniment and discernment training in Châtelard (France); and formation in faith and mission/ ecology/the new Cosmology/and Leadership (Ireland).
Her years of experience in the service of the province are multiple: local leader for 12 years, province councilor for 18 years; directress of the pre-novices for 4 years; directress of the novitiate for 8 years, and province leader for 6 years.
Her apostolic experiences include working with youth experiencing serious issues, children with social difficulties, women with marriage and family life issues, pastoral needs of young people, and a project of the Congregation for a formation session at the Mother House in France.
Prior to the conclusion of the Chapter, the Province Leadership Team was formed:
Sisters Antoinette Assaf, Georgina Habash, and Georgette Tannoury.
