New Asia Pacific MDO Provides Organizational Support For Regional Projects

In an effort to provide long-term sustainability for projects in the Asia Pacific area, the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd have established a new Mission Development Office (MDO) in the region.

The office, which will work directly with the Rome MDO, will offer capacity building, organizational development, resource mobilization and monitoring and evaluation services for the region’s many projects that include protecting young girls from the human trafficking trade in India and offering educational and nutritional support for migrant children and adolescents in Thailand.

Theresa Symons will serve as the regional manager for the Asia Pacific MDO. “I will try my best in this new role which is both exciting as well as challenging. There is a lot to learn and re-learn. With the support of everyone, I hope to be able to fulfill the expectations of this role,” she said.

The new MDO is part of a plan to establish regional management teams in close proximity to the projects carried out by the sisters and their partners in mission.
